Stableford
Score points for every hole — one bad hole won't ruin your round.

How to play
- •On each hole, compare your score to par and award yourself points: Double eagle = 5 pts, Eagle = 4 pts, Birdie = 3 pts, Par = 2 pts, Bogey = 1 pt, Double bogey or worse = 0 pts.
- •With handicaps, apply your stroke allowance before calculating points — net score vs. par.
- •Add up points across all 18 holes. Highest total wins.
- •A typical good amateur round scores around 35–40 points. Par is equivalent to 36 points (2 per hole × 18).
Example — five holes
Birdie (3 pts) + Double bogey (0) + Par (2) + Bogey (1) + Eagle (4) = 10 points. A double bogey costs nothing extra — it's the same as a triple or worse.
Setup — before you tee off
- 1Enter player names — any number works.
- 2Enter each player's handicap index if playing net Stableford (recommended for mixed-ability groups).
- 3Enter gross scores hole by hole — the app converts to Stableford points automatically.
Pro tip
Stableford is perfect for groups with mixed abilities. A high handicapper can genuinely compete because they get extra strokes, and one blow-up hole doesn't end their round.
Variations
Modified Stableford
Bogey scores -1 instead of 1 point, adding real risk to aggressive play.
Team Stableford
Two-person teams. Each hole, take the better Stableford score from each partner.
